What Service does Alan provide?

Alan offers a bespoke service so that you can create your own wedding package from scratch. You choose the aspects of your wedding that you would like photographic  coverage of, and then you choose from a wide range of products such as albums, prints, DVD etc. You then book your personal package with Alan. It’s simple! You get all the   aspects of wedding photography that you want without spending in the areas that you don't.

Where do we start?

The starting package is designed as a foundation onto which you may ‘add on’ a wide range of extras if you wish, giving you as many options as possible to meet your specific requirements.

We start with:

  • Our style and photographic expertise. With 15 years experience and continually pushing the boundaries of the latest trends in image presentation. Our style is a blend of documentary photography capturing all those wonderful fleeting moments and beautifully crafted classical and elegant portraits of the bride and groom.
  • A full planning and consultation meeting with you approximately two weeks before the wedding. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss in detail your requirements and plan a schedule of coverage for the day.
  • Coverage is for the whole day. This includes the bride’s preparations, arrival of the groom, his attendants and guests. The Bridal parties’ arrival, the ceremony and the reception. We do not limit the number of photographs taken and endeavour to provide comprehensive coverage, including any requests for family group shots discussed at the planning meeting.
  • Approximately three weeks after the wedding you will have access to view your personal online gallery at our website. There is also a secure online ordering service, should your family and friends wish to purchase prints directly from Alan Bowman Photography.
  • You will receive a DVD of all the images of the day. Images are full resolution and copyright free allowing you to print your own images.
  • If your package includes the -Story book album- Alan will create a bespoke design layout containing all the pictures of the day.
  • If your package includes -50 personalised thank you cards- The cover image will be selected by Alan.
  • If your package includes -A Deluxe Wedding Album- This range of albums have a standard number of pages. The digital range has 30 pages and the contemporary range has 24 pages.

How many photographers will attend the wedding?

Alan is your photographer for the day. However there is an option for a second photographer at the wedding. This allows for one photographer to cover the bridal preparations and the second photographer will cover the groom and his attendants arrivals.  A second photographer provides another perspective, ensuring that each and every angle is covered with many more of those candid informal moments, evocative of the joy and emotion of your day.

How long will the photography take?

Alan will document the whole day, capturing all the details and events as they unfold. However, after the main ceremony and before the wedding breakfast Alan would like to have at least two hours, if not a little more. This is ample time to manage the main group photographs and allow for a comprehensive number of portraits of the couple themselves.

How many pictures will Alan take?

There is no set limit to the amount of pictures taken. Between 300 and 600 images will be presented to you on the DVD and in the storybook album.

Can we choose the images that go into the ‘storybook album’?

The storybook album is designed, fundamentally, as an aid to help you choose your favourite images for your main wedding album. Viewing images on a computer screen doesn’t always do the image justice in the way a hard copy can. It is a high quality proofing system! But it is more than that. We have deliberately not included any image reference and the album is set out in a magazine style so that it can be kept as a unique memory of your day.

How do I access my personal online gallery?

Alan will issue you with a personal password which you can pass on to your family and friends.  If your package includes the Thank You Cards then the password will also be printed on the back of the card. Visit our website and go to ‘client area’. Enter your password to view your own personal gallery. The images will appear in blocks of twenty thumbnails (these can be enlarged individually).

What does Alan do about food on the day?

Alan and the second photographer will usually be invited by the couple to have some food at the reception if they are staying beyond the wedding breakfast. This usually consists of a small meal or sandwiches.

Enhanced Presentation.

Following your wedding you will want Alan to design for you a beautiful bespoke wedding album using a selection of your favourite images. Alan has a range of high quality beautifully designed contemporary and classic wedding albums, and can also source any album design options that you may have a preference for. Alan will design and build your album free of charge. Our deluxe wedding albums are available in a number of size options: A3, A4, 16, 12, 10, 8, and 6 inches

Can we choose different covers for our albums?

An extensive range is available. The albums we use are all hand crafted in Leather, Faux Leather, Suede, and Brushed Metal. All our deluxe albums are handmade and book bound to the highest quality.

How do we inform you about which images we have chosen for our deluxe album?

After having selected a 24 or 30 page album (you are welcome to view our album range again to refresh your memory) and your favourite images, simply go to your personal on-line gallery and record the image number (hover over the image to reveal the number). Email your list of numbers to Alan. Alan will then design a layout and email it to you for approval. Once you have approved the layout he will make up the album for you.

Do many couples have more than the set amount of pages in their album?

Yes, many couples that we photograph choose more pictures than are standard in the albums. Each additional page is charged at a standard rate of £20.00 irrespective of how many prints you have on the page. A page is also defined as both sides.

Can we get parents albums?

Yes, parent’s albums can be a duplication of either the story book album or the Deluxe album range. We also offer bespoke designs with up to 40 pages.

Are there any hidden extras in the pricing?

Absolutely not, All of our prices include VAT (at the current rate), and everything is explained to you during our meetings.

How many times do we meet before the wedding?

Usually twice, but given some geographic locations of weddings, this may be cut down to one main meeting, emails and telephone calls.

If Alan has to travel outside the normal area, are there any extra expenses incurred?

Only if Alan has to stay overnight at a local B&B or travels more than 50 miles. Expenses are otherwise included in the packages.
